140 schools hosted the regional rounds of the 2019 World Scholar’s Cup in May and 老王射区 was fortunate to have two teams progress and participate in the Global round in Den Haag, The Netherlands from 21-26 July.
Huge congratulations to both 老王射区teams who are now through to the Tournament of Champions at Yale this November.
Jake W, Harrison B and Charlotte J finished 77th in the Senior division.
George H, Shaan S and Nicholas finished in the top 50 (out of 600 teams). They also won numerous awards and medals including a trophy for coming overall 6th in the competitive writing, 12th overall for their debating challenge and a total of thirty-nine gold and silver medals for both individual and team efforts in each of the categories.
We are also delighted to report that our very own Mr Wingfield was named as one the Coaches of the Year.
Founded in 2007 the World Scholars Cup is a global charitable enrichment initiative for students of all backgrounds from public and private schools all over the world. Teams performing well at this global event can progress to the 8th annual Tournament of Champions to be held in Yale University in the USA in November this year, bringing together qualifying teams from all six global rounds.
Well done to all our teams who participated in this and the earlier rounds.
